On January 13, 2022, the signing ceremony for the innovation center between North University of China and Ocean Hydraulic Group was grandly held at the Jinke Wisdom City. Attending the ceremony were leaders including Wu Junqing, Secretary of the Jinzhong Municipal Party Committee; Chang Shuming, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor; Shen Xingquan, Secretary of the Party Committee of North University of China; President Xiong Jijun; and Vice President Li Dongguang. The ceremony was presided over by Liu Wei, Member of the Jinzhong Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Vice Mayor. Distinguished guests in attendance also included Zhang Kejun, Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology; Ma Jun, Member of the Provincial Education Working Committee, Party Leadership Member of the Provincial Department of Education, and Deputy Director; as well as Lu Jianping, Member of the Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Secretary-General; Feng Xiaolei, Member of the Municipal Party Committee Standing Committee and Head of the Organization Department; Nan Hong, Director of the Municipal Science and Technology Bureau; Duan Yanxiang, Secretary of the Development Zone Party Working Committee and Director of the Management Committee; and Wang Gaofeng, Deputy Director of the Development Zone Management Committee, along with other principal officials from the Jinzhong Municipal Party Committee, Government, and Development Zone. Also present were provincial and municipal news media and over 40 high-tech enterprises.
The innovation center will primarily focus on research areas such as metallurgical industrial robots, intelligent identification of coal and rock in mining, and coalbed methane extraction. It aims to jointly advance innovative technologies and production applications in industrial intelligence, informatization, and automation, and is expected to contribute actively to the “Made in China 2025” initiative.
North University of China is a multidisciplinary teaching and research-oriented university jointly established by the Shanxi Provincial People’s Government and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, as well as by the Shanxi Provincial People’s Government and the National Defense Science, Technology and Industry Administration. It is managed by the Shanxi Provincial People’s Government and is renowned as the “First Institute of People’s Ordnance Engineering.” The university boasts national-level defense research platforms, including key national defense science and technology laboratories, key discipline laboratories, and advanced technology engineering centers. Its scientific research achievements have been widely applied in major national projects such as manned spaceflight, deep-space exploration, and significant weapon systems, with over 70 accomplishments contributing to landmark initiatives including the “Shenzhou,” “Chang’e,” “Tiangong,” “Beidou,” “Fuxing” bullet trains, and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. In the field of civil-military integration, the university has selected and actively promoted the localized transformation of more than 40 civil-military integration achievements with promising industrialization prospects.
